Goodnight Gorilla

This has been Cara's book of choice lately, and you can see why in this video! She gets more and more expressive every time we read it. Please-oh-please ignore my obnoxious kid-voice!  :)  Also, I just want to say that we don't normally breeze through all the pages, but we had to get to the good ones!

Caroline is loving:
Little Blue Truck Leads the Way - This has been her favorite for a while now, and she has memorized which pages have a doggie on them and will point to them and make panting noises.

Winnie the Pooh's Plan Bee - This is one of those Hallmark recordable books, which Grandpa and Mia gave the girls at Christmas. She loves to turn the pages herself and dance to the music.

Elli is loving:
1, 2, I Love You - It has elephants, which makes this book a winner in Elli's book, but the rhyme is also very sweet and the pictures interesting.

If All the Animals Came Inside - See above. :)  Also, she loves to mimic the faces in this book.

Mommy is loving:
Pride and Prejudice - This classic is my favorite book, so of course I love this counting version based on the Jane Austen classic! I really like the artwork as well.

The Little Engine That Could - Another classic children's book, but I like the artwork by Loren Long.
Daddy is loving:
Little Blue Truck - A must read in all our opinions, but Daniel chose it because of it's rhythm, the artwork, and especially for the toad.  :)

Books

We spend a lot of time reading at our house, so I thought I would share some of our favorites this week.  I let the girls choose what we're going to read most of the time, but then I always have a few that I'm pushing. :)

Caroline is loving:
Rainbow Colors Peekaboo! (This girl just loves peekaboo, especially now that she's figured out how to turn the pages herself!)
Ten Little Ladybugs (She loves touching the ladybugs.)
Good Night, Gorilla (I love that this book doesn't have a whole lot of words, so a lot of it is expression and gasps, which she responds to a ton.)

Elli is loving:
Summertime in the Big Woods (Based on the Little House books. I can't wait to read the real ones with the girls!)
The Best Kind of Kiss (Spoiler Alert! The best kind of kiss is Daddy's kiss, so this was a special one to read while Daddy was out of town this past week.)

Mommy is loving:
Bear Snores On (I love the rhythm of this book and especially all the onomatopoeia.)
The Miracles of Jesus (I always enjoy the artwork of Tomie de Paola.  This has been a perfect lunchtime book for us.  I've been reading Living the Christian Year, and I think this will be the perfect book to read during the season of Epiphany next year.)
