So, my calendar tells me that April is two days away, but I'm having a hard time believing it. For one, March just started, am I right? And secondly, it shouldn't be 38 degrees outside in April. I think it's against the law or something.
We've spent a lot of time watching basketball this month, so maybe that explains it. The Coolidge Corner Clubhouse should seriously reserve seats for us... we've been that regular. "Rock Chalk Jayhawk!" (definitely my voice... Daniel would never be caught dead with those words coming out of his mouth!)
I was recently moved into the Infant I room at my work, so now I take care of five little babies between the ages of 2.5 and 7 months. At first I was afraid it would be boring. All they do is eat, poop, sleep, and stare at you, right? Despite the frequency of those activities, I have been pleasantly surprised. They smile and coo and even laugh sometimes, and that stare is pretty endearing. And you can manipulate their bodies to dance according to their outfit.... no seriously, let me explain. One of our little boy's mom dresses him in red bell bottoms and a polo with a strip across the chest. We call him Disco-Oliver. So we put on the kids disco cd and (with a little help from his teachers) he could give John Travolta a run for his money! Pretty darn adorable!
Next weekend, I am attending our church's women's retreat. I'm really looking forward to it! Besides a few women I've talked to consistently on Sundays, I don't really know anyone at all! I miss my friends a lot here, and so I am pretty excited to be with girls exclusively for a weekend.
In other news, we are roasting our first turkey. I know, it's not November, but we wanted to try, and I'm hoping it will help us to stretch our grocery budget a little further. We've been documenting the progress, so look for a picture post tomorrow!
