Thank you to the club and moms who gave Elli her Pooh Bear mobile. We are getting her crib this week, so I brought it out to see what she thought about it, and oh boy, does she love it! If I'd known it would be such a big hit, I would have brought it out long ago. She smiles and squeals in delight at her new friends. Daniel and I are having so much fun watching her enjoy the world around her.

Hey, I some what followed this tutorial http://www.flickr.com/photos/ambrosialove/522118984/ but that is for an adult tutu. If you have a sewing machine you can sew it and add layers but I did it this way. I also had it straightened nicely but of course the minute I put it on Brooke pulled all the pieces up and then spit up all over the place.
I went to Hobby Lobby and bought 1 yard of brown tulle and 1 yard of pink tulle, although I ended up losing some from ripping and wish I had gotten a little more. I also bought 1/4 elastic band there as well. I measured around Brooke's waist to decide what length I wanted and cut an extra inch or two for room. For the length, you decide how far you want it to fall and multiply by two. So for Brooke, I wanted 7 inch pieces so I cut 14 inch strips. I did a 4in width which made it pretty poofy so you can judge from my picture what width you want. There is a drawing at that link on how to loop them through and make a knot. Don't make the knot too tight -- I made this mistake -- or you will keep the elastic from stretching and need more tulle to make up the space. I just alternated colors around and the final step is sewing the back closer, but if you would rather tie or do something else I am sure that is fine. I am also going to add a ribbon to the front for added effect. I hope that helps, message me if you have any questions!
