March already?

Seriously... what happened to February? March has always been one of my favorite months; I suppose mostly because it contains the first day of spring, and that means open windows, thunderstorms, and green green green! I'm especially looking forward to the warmer weather this year so Elli and I can spend more time outside!

For many reasons, today was a wonderful start to a new month. Daniel has been so busy these past few weeks, but this morning felt relaxed and peaceful. We started the day off well rested (thank you, Elli!), well fed, and well caffeinated. I had time to shower, blow dry my hair, and (gasp!) put makeup on! And even though we had to deal with an almost flat tire, we were only a little late to church. Daniel was able to spend most of the day hanging out with us, and I got to go for a run this evening. I was able to go three miles, which hasn't happened maybe since Boston. It felt so good!

My first goal for getting back into running shape after having Elli was to be able to run three miles in March, and I'm so happy to have completed that on the first day of the month! Now I'm moving on to training for a 10K on April 19th, then maybe a 15K in the summer. I have wanted to run a half marathon for the past two years, but due to a knee injury and pregnancy, I haven't been able to complete that goal. This is the year, friends! And now that I've put that out on the world wide web for everyone to see... I'm committed!

Anybody want to run with me?

Well, it's been a random post... so here are some random pics of me and my baby girl.
Elli loves her ballerina lifts!

Ok you and Elli both look absolutely beautiful in that picture! And I would love to be your running partner! I think Daniel should find a job in Indianapolis. Once you accomplish your half marathon goal you can run a full marathon with me! I really want to run a full one in 2010. Good job getting to 3 miles. I ran for the first time on Saturday and I was so out of breath but I know I'll be able to get back into shape once the weather is nicer and I can take the kiddos out with me jogging.

Those are beautiful pictures. You and Elli look so happy. Way to go on your running goals! I'm impressed. Unfortunately, running over 4 miles sounds rather torturous. I would love to come to the race and cheer you on though!

You girls are SO beautiful!!! Great job on the running, Aunt Meg - if you run the Wichita half in September Christine and I will...um...come and watch you ;-) I can do 3 miles on the treadmill, which is probably the equivalent of ONE on the ground!

Megan she is growing so fast! I cannot wait till our baby comes!
Awesome job running. You should totally do the half. It is tough, but so fun and the bragging rights are great. It is smart to do shorter races to work up to it because they keep you focused and motivated. A little advice.. train past the 13.1. I did not and wish I would have because I hit a wall about mile 11. Which is the farthest I had ran. I am totally confident you will be able to do it you have lots of time left to work up to it. Good luck! I'd love to run with you, but I am pretty sure I won't be ready for another one so soon after I deliver. I have not kept up with running as much as I would have hoped. Wow. I have written a book. Anyway, enjoy your baby! Hope Daniel is well!
