In all the craziness, I never got around to a five month post... so here are both five and six combined.
Five months
Six months
My Sunshine Baby,
Impossible that you are really six months old today! You seem more and more like a toddler and less and less like a baby every day. Slow down! Mommy can hardly stand it!
You continue to bring so much joy into our lives. These two months you've dicovered how to sit up all by yourself; scarf down your green beans and carrots; bounce when standing on our laps; use all kinds of new consonants in your babble; express delight, fear, frustration, and excitement through various squeals and whines; how delicious your toes are... and cell phones... and mommy's earrings... and pretty much anything within your reach.
Throughout all of the transitions lately, you've been a trooper! Even though we lost all traces of a schedule while we were on vacation and moving, you haven't skipped a beat getting back into a routine! You're sleeping 10-11 hours at night (thank you, thank you, thank you!) and taking two 1 1/2 to 2 hour naps during the day (and sometimes a little cat nap in the late afternoon). Although your first reaction was hesitant, you LOVE your green beans. Carrots are still on the fence, and we're starting peas tomorrow. You love being in water of any kind... pool, bath, or sink, and you especially love your water toys. We predict you will be a champion water skier, because you are impressively balanced when we hold on to only one leg while you're standing.
Pounding is your favorite activity. You discovered around five months that you could pound the kitchen table while sitting in someone's lap, and you've never turned back. Toys, floor, high chair tray, stroller, keyboard, water, people, even Mommy's hand while you're nursing... it's all fair game. Pound, pound, pound!
Some of my favorite moments with you are when you're finished nursing and you stare up into my face and reach your little hand up for a kiss. I also love that you have a special smile for Daddy when he walks in the door after work. Your giggle is getting bigger and brighter these days, and it's not hard to get one out of you. My days are so much fun with you!
We love you, little light!
