Pumpkin Patch

I love everything about the fall - the food, the smells, the activities, the holidays, etc.  Of course, it still doesn't really feel like fall here (today's high is 87).  Last Saturday was a pretty day with a cool breeze, so we took Elli to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out a few pumpkins and play.  We decided not to make the hour trek we did last year, and instead chose a smaller, much closer patch, and we didn't miss the petting zoo or carnival fare one bit.

Elli tried to lift every pumpkin in her reach.
Thought about going with the unconventional gourd option...
Absolutely loved chasing and being chased through the hay bale maze.
Saw things through the eyes of a scarecrow.  In reality, she's kind of nervous around scarecrows.  She always points them out when we go to the grocery or craft store, but she doesn't really want to get too close.
Helped Daddy toss some bean bags through the Jack-O-Lantern's face.
Didn't get to spend quite enough time in the corn barrel as she wanted. (I really think she would have stayed there all afternoon if we'd let her)
In the end, we came home with two beautiful "pum-pums," which Elli is constantly talking about and moving around.  Hopefully this weekend we can get around to carving them.  After last year's reaction, we can't wait to see what she thinks of that this year!
