The week after Caroline's birth was a little crazy. Wonderful, but crazy. Not only did we add a whole new person to our family, but we packed up our apartment and moved to our new house. Don't they say that having a baby and moving are two of the most stressful events in a person's life? Well, I don't know about that, but I can testify that when combined - yes, they are incredibly stressful. And let's just add on a whole tidal wave of postpartum hormones into the mix. Sheesh. BUT. Despite the craziness, we feel so blessed and grateful for God's good gifts to us! And I'm not just saying that because I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, although I don't want that either. We are genuinely overwhelmed by God's goodness to us!!
My parents came in town as soon as we knew Caroline was on her way. They stayed a little over a week and served us tirelessly. They made Elli feel special with all kinds of extra attention and surprises; my mom cooked and cleaned and did laundry; and both of them, along with my brother Ryan, worked on the house with Daniel and helped us pack and move.
We made sure to get some family pictures before we left, which turned out pretty well considering we had two cameras going at once (lesson learned!) and Elli was only interested for so long.

Gotta show off Elli's footwear of choice. She wears these all the time!
