First Haircut

We are having quite a week, full of fun adventures and some pretty big firsts!  The timing could not be more perfect, because I hardly have time to think about the fact that I'm nine months pregnant!  (Ok, so it's pretty hard to forget at this point.)

Elli had her very first haircut on Wednesday!  I have known for quite a while that she desperately needed one, but always hesitated to actually take her - partly because I did not have a vision for it and was afraid it would look worse, and partly because I do love those sweet curls in a ponytail!  But I am SO happy with the results!  She looks adorable and so grown up in her little summer bob. 

Of course, she was less than thrilled to have a photo shoot this morning.  :)

Now, prepare yourselves -- I did not take any pictures of the actual haircut.  Our visit was semi-spontaneous, so I didn't have my camera with me and forgot my cell phone in the car.  Shock... horror... sadness.  I really feel like it's the first milestone I've completely missed!  Oh well... I'll bring the camera next time and we can reenact it.

I took her to a sweet little salon called Pigtails and Crewcuts.  If you click on the link, you can see what it looks like.  Elli chose to sit in the yellow taxi cab (which she called an airplane) and got to watch Dora the Explorer while she was having her hair cut.  Even with all of that fun she was still kind of fidgety, but I was thankful we made it through!  Her stylist braided her little curls before she cut them off, and I of course am keeping them.  I do miss her little baby curls a little bit, but soon we'll have some more sweet ones to kiss. :)
