A House Update

In the midst of all the newborn sweetness we're enjoying, we have also been working hard to get our home ready to move in to.  And by "we," I mean Daniel, my dad and mom.  My contribution at this point has been nearly having a meltdown in Home Depot choosing paint colors with Daniel.

Before Caroline came, we had hired professionals to take out the asbestos-containing popcorn ceilings, but they still needed to be floated, mudded, sanded, primed, and painted.  In addition, all of our walls had a painfully rough, sandpaper texture on them that needed to be sanded off.  And of course, the time to do all of this was before we move in our belongings.  Thank goodness we have our apartment through May!

At the moment, I'm at home with the girls (love saying that!), while Daniel and my parents are hard at work painting.  Not being there is kind of killing me, but I'm so thankful for my parents help and service during this crazy time.  We would never be able to get everything done that we want to without their help.

Here is a before and during picture of our family room.  I'll post an after when everything is all painted.  The before picture is from the realtor, so it's kind of hard to compare, but the biggest change in this room so far is taking out the beams in the ceiling.  I don't think the picture really captures how much better it looks without them!

Daniel sanding the ceiling in the hall bath.  My neck hurts just thinking about all the work they did on the ceilings!  The finished product looks awesome!

Elli loved helping Grandpa paint in the master bedroom.

And Caroline was pretty content to just take it all in.  Daniel and I can't wait to bring our girls to their new home (should be soon!).
