This morning, as we sat out on our back patio enjoying our coffee, a cool breeze, and our two darling girls, Daniel and I smiled at each other. We are absolutely loving life right now. Our God is so good, and we see evidence of his faithfulness all around us, especially in some pretty amazing answered prayers recently. What a great season in our lives!
Speaking of seasons... somehow it is summer already! The last several weeks have just flown by, so it definitely snuck up on us. June began with Daniel's parents coming to meet their new granddaughter. (Not their newest, however, since our sweet niece, Brynn Elisabeth, arrived a mere 13 hours after Caroline!) They spent the weekend serving Daniel and I, spoiling Elli, and snuggling Caroline.
Our calendar is filling up already, so we are soaking up these next few weeks of quality family time with just the four of us. We plan on spending the Fourth of July with Daniel's family, then a few weeks later my brother Michael (and possibly Adam and Sara) are flying down for a weekend. Michael planned his trip around the release of the new Pooh Bear movie, so you know Elli will be having fun! My parents return the first weekend in August, and then we will spend Labor Day weekend with my family. Oh my! Summer will be gone before we know it!
We have several home projects we want to work on, but we don't want to get in over our heads, so we'll take it one at a time. One priority, however, is getting our backyard in great condition so we can do a lot of this:
At least on Wednesdays, that is, since that's our watering day. I know most of the country is concerned about flooding, but we're having the opposite problem here and are under stage 2 drought regulations. There is rain in the forecast for late next week, though, so we hope and pray for some relief soon!
We also don't want to miss a minute of this sweetness:
Because she is already growing and changing so much!
Life is so sweet right now!
