The Fourth (Part 2)

The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays, partly because of the fireworks, partly because its usually a pretty laid back day.  This year was exactly that - relaxed and rich with sweet moments.  On Saturday, my parents drove down for the morning (they couldn't stand having their granddaughters withing a few hours and not see them!) and we did nothing but chat and hold babies and let Elli shoot us with water guns.

And I do mean let her shoot us, because as you can see, she is quick to disarm you if you dare fire upon her!

Caroline got some sweet snuggle time with her Grandpa and Mia, who couldn't believe how much she had grown in six weeks.  Look at that strong neck!

Elli had fun blowing bubbles the whole weekend, and thought Papa was hilarious when he did it.

It was a perfect summer morning, sunny but not too hot in the shade, quiet and laid back.  The men enjoyed some basketball on the new goal, and we all chatted away about this and that... mostly the granddaughters.  Bliss.  Thanks, Mom and Dad, for driving down to see us!
And don't you just love it when babies sleep like that?
