Celebrating

My brother recently started a blog of 365 memories before his 30th birthday, and during our family vacation last weekend we spent a lot of time talking about our family stories.  These things made me think about the stories that I want our girls to be able to read in ten, twenty, fifty years.  And I got inspired to write a little "series."  I love to hear stories about my parents when they were young, and especially from their young married years.  So, as Daniel and I approach our 5 year anniversary this December, I want to share a few of our stories.

Also, I want to celebrate the heck out of that milestone.  Not because of our own accomplishment, but because God has been so faithful and good to get us here.  If you had asked me five years ago what our life and marriage would look like, I would have painted a different picture than what it is today, partly because I was naive about the reality of marriage and partly because the Lord had a few curve balls to throw at us.  Some things have been so much better than I could have planned, like the gift of our two sweet girls.  And some things were so much more difficult and challenging then I ever could have thought.

So you are forewarned - things might get a little mushy around here (but not too mushy, I promise).  Five years ago this month, we were getting our engagement pictures taken.  I love them.  Oh my goodness, we were so young!  Here are a few of my favorites:
