Well, I've been awful about updating and even worse at taking pictures! This semester seems to be flying by! Although this story would be so much better if I'd had my camera on me, I'll tell it anyway. Last Thursday, Daniel and I returned from Ichthus at approximately eleven in the evening to find none other than a raccoon on our doorstep. And we're talking RACCOON! He/she must have weighed at least 50 lbs... and I have no idea if that's normal for a raccoon, but in my inexperienced eyes... it was a behemoth! Now, I must confess that it was my own fault, because I did leave the trash outside the door. (I was planning on taking it out to the dumpster on our way out, but we were in somewhat of a rush when we left.) So, I suppose I provoked him/her. Fortunately, Daniel (my knight in shining armor) was there to save the day. After he scared the beast away, we surveyed the damage. True to their meticulous reputation, the raccoon had surgically cut a small hole in the trash bag and was pulling one thing out at a time for inspection and scavenging. They're smart little creatures!
Fascinating as it was, I'm now terrified to walk up the steps by my self in the dark! Even though we no longer set the trash outside of the door, I still have a fear that he'll just be checking back every once in a while, and I have no idea how to defend myself against a raccoon!
Here's a picture of what he looked like.... except ours was bigger.

That's hilarious! Gotta love having a husband around. Colin kills all of the gigantically big spiders hanging out at my house. :) It's never a good day when I find one and he's not around...the other day I looked out my window and saw three huge turkeys just chilling in my front yard. One actually climbed on top of my car! It was wierd, but Micah was enthralled! :)

I caught up on your posts today. I miss you a lot! I think you and Daniel need to take a weekend getaway back here to good ol hoosier territory! Thinking of you often....Stacey
