What a sweet weekend! Daniel and I feel so abundantly blessed by the love of our family and friends. On Saturday, some of Daniel's family friends threw a baby shower for Elinor. Thank you Judith and Diana! We had a wonderful time, and it was so special to introduce Daniel's daughter to women who had known Daniel when he was a baby!
Sunday was Elli's baptism, and we were overwhelmed with a sense of God's faithfulness to our little family. Papa and Nona, Grandpa and Mia, Michael, Brian, Kayla, and my Grandma H were all able to attend (and her other uncles, aunt, and cousin were there in spirit!), and several of our dear friends in Manhattan came, too!
Pastor Wilson preached an excellent sermon on 1 Corinthians 7:14. We were reminded of God's promises concerning covenant children, and encouraged and challenged to bring the three "F's" into Elli's life: feeding her with the Word, sharing our faith with her through prayer and trusting God together, and bringing the fellowship of other believers into our home. We look to the Lord for Elinor's salvation, and we're so thankful that she will be surrounded by parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts who will daily share with her about God's love for her!
Elli was very attentive to Pastor Wilson as he explained the sacrament and took our vows.
No tears!
At the fellowship meal following the service, Elli had her very own cake made by Paula Wilson!
When we got home from church, Elli showed off her new bumbo chair from the shower. Thank you so much; she loves it! Check out those chubby little arms! They are so soft and kissable! And we snapped a family picture... Elli was looking at another of the five cameras pointed at her!
