Gunkgon

You know, it's kind of funny that baby books often ask you for baby's first word.  Because how do you define that?  Elli says "mamamamama" and "dadadadadada" a lot, but I'm not sure if their in reference to either of us.  And she says a lot of things that sound like words, but clearly aren't.  So, I guess we as parents just get to decide for ourselves what baby's first word is.

Well, Daniel and I are calling it.  Elli says "pumpkin."  Now, it comes out more like "gunk-gon," but she is definitely trying and definitely referring to her pumpkins.  So sweet.

When we got home from the pumpkin patch on Saturday, Elli put one hand on her big "gunkgon" and one on her little "gunkgon," and just sat there chattering... I think she loves them!  I wonder what she'll think when Daniel carves up the big one?

didn't mean to say amazing twice. :) But she is doubly amazing, now that I think about it!

Is it just me, or does she look a lot like Micah in the second picture where she's making that little face? I love the pumpkin pics.

I was actually thinking she looks a LOT like Daniel's dad in the first picture!

Drove back from a work conference in Topeka today and saw some fall eye candy ... aka, gorgeous leaves and prairie grass. I definitely thought of you. :)
