Labor Day Weekend, Part 1

Much has been happening in our family, but I'll save that for a more wordy post soon. This past weekend, we traveled to Beaver Lake, Arkansas with my family for an extended weekend. We have been looking forward to this weekend for months and months, and we were not disappointed!  A perfectly relaxing vacation that was, of course, over way too quickly!

One major highlight (at least for us Texans) was the gorgeous weather!  The mornings were chilly and foggy out on the deck, which Elli and I enjoyed a little earlier than the rest of the family.  (Thanks, sweetie.  You knew I really wanted to watch the sunrise, didn't you?)  :)  The mornings were truly beautiful.
By the afternoon, it warmed up to a comfortable mid-eighties.  Delightful!  On Friday, we planned nothing for the day and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.  Adam and Sara brought their wii, and we all enjoyed a little friendly competition.
Ryan played the guitar and helped Elli play a little too... that is, until she figured out how to put the guitar pick inside of the guitar.
We drove down to the river one evening, and Elli had such a great time throwing rocks into the river.
At first she threw the closest rock she could find, but pretty soon she was hunting down the biggest rocks she could carry.  She was so proud when they made a big splash!
 Elli and my beautiful Mom.
And just in case you wanted more Elinor (you did, right?), here's some of my favorites of her sweet face!
Oh, and of course the men had a little rock throwing competition.
