I have now officially declared it a pj day around here, because unofficially it was anyway. And now I feel zero pressure to change that. The house was a ridiculous mess this morning after a busy weekend, so we have spent the morning trying to recover our sanity around here! Well, mine at least. I went from room to room and set the timer for thirty minutes and just got done whatever I could in that amount of time. Despite a few interruptions from the girls, I was able to make a ton of progress, and the house feels so much better. Now on to tackle the laundry... eek.
Unfortunately, the state of my house was a fairly accurate reflection of the state of my mind as well... there are a number of responsibilities, goals, projects, and people competing for my attention right now, and I will be the first to tell you that I'm not the best "juggler" at times. Some days I begin to feel slightly overwhelmed by it all, but I know I'll learn to manage everything in time. I am daily reminded of my incredible need of God's grace, and humbled by His abundant provision of it!
This season, however crazy and busy it may be, is also full of so much joy. Elli's imagination is really beginning to take off, and Caroline is getting to one of my favorite baby stages (aren't they all, really?). A few days ago, after holding her baby sister for a few seconds, Elli and I began to play a little game. She would pretend to be sleeping, and I would lean Caroline over to give her a "kiss" on the cheek. Elli would pop up and say, "I 'wake!", laugh at how silly she was, and then go back to pretend sleeping. In the beginning, I was just using Caroline to play with Elli, but before long, Caroline surprised me and started playing herself! Every time Elli woke up, Caroline got the biggest smile on her face, which made Elli feel so special. This continued only for a moment, but it was just a glimpse into what their relationship will soon be!
I love these pictures of her getting some tummy time on Daddy, and planting a big ol' wet one on her big sister. Please ignore the aforementioned mess making an appearance in the background.

Can't get enough of sweet Caroline's hair!
Good idea with the 30 minute limit in each room. I may be using that here soon...
Your little ladies are so sweet!
