Wonder

 Missing Cara's nap was totally worth a trip to the zoo this morning.

Even the hippos gave us a good show, and it's truly amazing to be face to face with the most dangerous animal in Africa.  Their rears, which they usually face to the window, just really don't have the same effect.  Cara was fascinated.

 As a special exhibit, they had a crocodilian skin and a few skull replicas for the kids to touch.  Elli was hesitant at first, but she did finally get brave enough to even feel the crocodile's teeth. 

And I just have to add this photo because she almost always requests a braid when I fix her hair, but I kind of love the way a ponytail looks on her.
