The Annual Christmas Tree Hunt

Today was a good day; full of making memories and enjoying our family. These years are going so fast, so I treasure these slower days.

Our one "accomplishment" was getting our Christmas tree. We weren't in our home yet last year, so it has been sweet to reestablish our traditions with the girls who are now two years older than last time, and with the addition of our little Charlie.

She enjoyed being outside at the tree farm, reached for just about every ornament in their little shop, and hardly took her eyes off of Daniel while he set the tree up at home. Tomorrow will be interesting.

Elli and Cara enjoyed the candy cane maze through the trees. Seeing Elli so capable and confident to fully enjoy and participate in this kind of activity makes my heart full. She is growing up so fast!

Of course we had to play a little bit of our traditional game of hide-and-seek.

We ended up with this little scotch pine, a much wider tree than we've ever had, but it fits well in the bay window of our kitchen. To the girls, every tree we saw had potential, and even almost convinced Daniel to let them have a small tree in their room. Almost.
