Happy (Belated) Birthday, Elinor Faye!

My darling Elle,

Year 3 was so good to you, honey. Your world expanded by leaps and bounds, and you took on each adventure with a spring in your step. I am so proud of your courage, your tenderness, and your growth. Year 3 was full of firsts - dance class, tricycle, chickens, snowball fight - and one very important step of faith on Easter.

You bless us every day with your soft heart, your willingness to be taught. You take your role as big sister very seriously, constantly helping and encouraging Caroline. It's no wonder she watches your every move and joins in with every journey you lead her on.

You are full of curiosity about, well, everything! I love all the questions you have, and then seeing how your understanding of your world shows up in how you imagined and played. You are creative and artistic (like Daddy) and are never happier than when we pull out the paints, colors, glue, scissors, playdough, etc.

You sing all the time. I mean really, almost every activity is accompanied with a song, and you often provide the soundtrack to our car rides. Most of the songs are completely made up, and I love having a little peek into what you're thinking.

On your fourth birthday, you decided four was old enough to lead the family in prayer, and so you did, reciting the Lord's Prayer before our meal. :)

There is so much more I could tell. Of the challenges you bravely faced; of your joys and sweetest moments. Most importantly, though, I want you to know that you are loved, deeply and truly, by your family, your friends, and your Maker. He made you spectacularly well, honey, and I can't stop thanking him for you!
