You took your sweet time in getting here - almost one week past your due date - but the anticipation only increased our joy when we finally met you and held you in our arms. You are such a gift and blessing to our family; a third precious jewel in our hearts. Your daddy and I feel both the weight and the privilege of raising three girls to love, trust and follow the Lord; and we marvel at the beauty and intensity of the bond you already have with your sisters.

To say we were surprised when we saw you were a girl would be an understatement; this pregnancy has been different from those of your sisters in almost every way, so both of us thought you must be a boy.  What a delightful surprise you are!

Your big sisters could not have been more excited to meet you - just check out Caroline's expressions! They couldn't wait to hold you and kiss you and see your fingers and toes.

You love to snuggle, and with such cuteness it's hard to resist holding you all the day long! These first days with you have been so special, and I'm storing them up as best I can because they will go too fast, I know.

For the most part, you have been a very easy baby. You nurse well, sleep well (um yes, I could get used to six hours of sleep at night), and are content whether held or on your own. We did have one rough night where you were crying or screaming for about eight hours straight. Every time you would cry, my postpartum hormones kicked in and we'd both be weeping together. Your poor daddy. That's probably not the only time he'll have to deal with two (or more) inconsolable females. :)

We did a terrible job of getting pictures with family. Like, I have none with you and your grandparents. I know they took some though, so I'll get my hands on those, but here's a picture of you and your cousin, Tevy. I can't wait to see your friendship grow.

And one of you meeting your Uncle Michael and Aunt Trilby. They'll be giving you another little cousin-friend soon! Don't they look like naturals? Also... it should be mentioned that you were born in the middle of our kitchen renovation, so a lot of these pictures have that as a lovely background. We promise, by the time you're ready to help bake up a batch of cookies, there will actually be a kitchen there!

Finally, here's a picture from your first tummy time... I think you kind of liked it! I know your smiles are more reflex than anything, but you've been giving us lots of them over the past couple of days. My heart flutters every single time. You are a joy to our family, Charlie-girl! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!
